The craft of printing was celebrated in fine style at the Printing Industries Craftsmanship Awards in Brisbane on Friday night.

The exceptional work of 16 different businesses was recognised with medals across the 22 award categories. ColourChiefs dominated the medal tally, taking home 7 gold medals as part of their total count of 11 medals, including the coveted Judges Award for their Yaroomba Beach Presentation Packaging. Platyplus Graphics were also a frequent visitor to the stage where they collected 4 Gold, 5 Silver and 2 Bronze medals.

Andrew Macaulay, CEO of Printing Industries said on the night “Queenslanders should be proud of the exceptional work that you do. I offer my congratulations to all medallists, you have been recognised as the best amongst a high standard of entries”.

Evan Bancroft entertained guests as the MC for the evening, which also included hearing the inspirational story of Angus Waddell. Angus is the only Australian to have competed in Commonwealth Games in both Athletics and Swimming.

The festivities of the evening included a fund raising component, raising $2,500 for charity 42 for 42, a non-profit group dedicated in helping Australian soldiers, veterans and families from the Afghanistan war, by building a community to help them in life.
