Printing Industries representative Mr. Matt Schembri yesterday attended a meeting with the Hon. Michael McCormack MP, and he confirms that tax write-offs will continue to benefit small printers. Minister McCormack is the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport.

The tax write-off benefit will be warmly received by industry members, and is a concession that PIAA has been lobbying Government to maintain. Mr Schembri was particularly impressed by the Minister’s support for small businesses in rural areas.

“Mr McCormack has come from regional Australia and was a printer himself, so has a firsthand experience and relationship with small printers and really understands the priorities of our industry.”

McCormack mentioned the instant $20k asset write off that is continuing, Mr Schembri said “The write off will continue to have a positive impact for the industry and provide much needed relief and support for SME’s who are the lifeblood of our economy.”

PIAA highlighted to the Deputy PM a wish list of purchases that printers could benefit from the instant write off and positively impact small businesses.
